So What Exactly Is a Tattoo?

Tattoos

A tattoo is a puncture wound, it is made deep in your skin, that's filled with ink. It's made by penetrating your skin with a needle and injecting ink into the area. Tattoos last  so longbecause  they're so deep in the skin— the ink isn't injected into the epidermis (the top layer of skin that you continue to produce and shed throughout your lifetime). Instead, the ink is injected into the dermis, which is the second, deeper layer of skin. Dermis cells are very stable, so the tattoo is practically permanent.

Tattoos used to be done manually — that is, the tattoo artist would puncture the skin with a needle and inject the ink by hand. Though this process is still used in some parts of the world, most tattoo shops use a tattoo machine these days. A tattoo machine is a handheld electric instrument that uses a tube and needle system. On one end is a sterilized needle, which is attached to tubes that contain ink. A foot switch is used to turn on the machine, which moves the needle in and out while driving the ink about 1/8 inch (about 3 millimeters) into your skin.

Most tattoo artists know how deep to drive the needle into your skin, but not going deep enough will produce a ragged tattoo, and going too deep can cause bleeding and intense pain. Getting a tattoo can take several hours, depending on the size and design chosen.

Piercing movie

Collar Bone Surface Piercing

Ouch i think that this is crazy who would do that to themselves? I would think when these people get older that they are going to regret what they have done to there bodies. Sure you can take it out but I think that taking it out is going to hurt just as much as it did when they got it pierced. I don't know what do you think about here piercing appealing?

I find these really gross

So I went for a search online to see some different kinda of piercings that people have gotten and these are some that I came up with. To me all of these are gross and look painful. I mean ya I have piercings I have6 of them but nothings like how these people have them. I mean who would want to put body jewelry under there skin? That's nasty. And than the guys who gauged his nose yuk. Not something that I would want to see every day. I don't know about these people. Just think how you would feel if you were walking down the street and saw one of these people. I know I would be kind of freaked out!

Piercings

Here is a picture of just how extreme people can get with putting plugs in there ears

Tribalectic

this is a web sit that's shows you just how crazy some people get with putting earring plugs in there ears. They first have to stretch there ears to get the plug to fit in it and than you just keep making it bigger to put different plugs in. I think that it is weird but some people really like it

How tattooing is done

DOZ Tattoo Techniques

this is a really cool video because the guy takes you threw the steps of how the prosses of tattooing works. I thought that it was pretty neat because with both of my tattoos I was in to much pain to watch how he did everything so this showed me kinda how it was done. the guy I got it from didn't use 3 different machines and needles he just used one the whole way through and cleaned it off when he went to put in the color.

The body as canvas

When does it go to far?

well it goes to far when when you look like this. When you have so many piercings in that it is hard to find a job, getting pierced at a very young age like 12 or 13 seems to be the worst, its the time when there was some relationship to psychopathology, but it was a minor relationship, found only among those children that had multipul piercings. You should not be to worried when your children are 20 or so and want to get a tattoo because its the normal thing to do, but if your child is younger than 18 and really wants a tattoo than it may be a warning sign that you need to watch out for.

A body of expression

Do you wonder why people get tattoo's and piercings? Well this is why......

Any time that we see a fad or a craze, peer pressure seems to be one of the possible motivations to get it, but as Fredrick-Recascino in this article heard another explanation from her modified subjects. They stated that they were not getting tattoo's and piercing because of all of the peer pressure but that they were getting them as a way to reflect their identity. Meaning that the tattoo's that they choose to get is an way to show who they are, or what they like to let others see and kinda know who they are.

6 of the stupiest tattoos I have ever seen

This to me screams FREAK. Sorry if you like it but I don't know why any one would get an eye ball on the back of their head. Its not like you can see out of it anyways.
"hey mom and dad i got  my food right here" um like hello why would you get that tattoo? Are you serious right now? wow that's all I have to say.
This guy had to be drunk or something, cause I don't think any person would want to get a stupid tattoo like that on there head and than even spell a word wrong its spelt "COMMENT" in case you want to get another one dude.
I have no idea why she did this. I wonder if she thinks that it will attract guys to her? Cause I would think that it would be a big turn off for guys.
why would you ever get a calculator on your arm? you cant push the buttons when you need to figure out a math problem. I wonder what was going through his head when he got this.
well i don't even get what this tattoo is suppost to mean, but on top of that its looks very painful and stupid!

5 websites that i like

Blogs about: Tattooing

I liked this blog because it has a bunch of smaller blogging sites connected to it, and some of them are interesting. One of them talks about the Ancient Tattoo Inking style, which is very cool.

Tattooblog: colors of freedom

I choose this blog site because there is some interesting tattoo's on it. It just shows you how weird people have got when they choose these things and put them on there bodies

Allen Tattoo

This guy talks about his life. And he talks about his tattoos and when he got them.

The Best Tattoo Sites on the Internet

I picked this site because it also has sites that go off of it and a lot of them look really good.

Henna Tattoos Blog

I really like Henna tattoo's, they are a way to test out the tattoo before you get it on your body permentaly. Henna will stay on your body for about a week (more or less depending on the spot where it is on your body) and it looks as if a tattoo would. Only difference is it is brown and it will come off. It is a great way to try it out because you may not like the idea after all.

the history of tattoo's

Tattooing began over 5000 years ago. The first tattoos probably were created by accident. Someone had a small wound, and rubbed it with their dirty hand that has soot and ashes on it from the fire. Once the wound had healed they still had the make under the skin, it stayed permanently. In 1991, a 5 thousand year old man who had tattoos made the newspapers all over the world, when his frozen body was discovered on a mountain between Austria and Italy. It was the best preserved corpse of that time period ever found. He had 57 tattoo's. There was a cross on the inside of his left knee, 6 straight lines about his kidneys and some parallel lines on his ankles, all about 15 centimeters long.

My second...

If you look around in the world that we live in today you will see about 85% of people who have tattoos.  Some people get worried though when they get a tattoo because they want to make sure that when they get out there in the real world and start looking for a job, than they want to be hired even though they do have tattoos on their bodies. Most people can get a job when they have tattoos.  I want to be a Elemantary Teachers, so what I have learned is that with my tattoos what I need to do is to cover them up for a while until my students start to know me and slowley show them off. Now both of my tattoos are in places that I can hide very easily, so if you saw me walking down the street you would never know that I even had them. So if your worried about not finding a job because you have tattoos dont worry so much, let the person know at your interview that you have them, or cover them up for a long time until you have been at the job long enough that you feel confortable to start to show them a little.

my first....

This was my very first tattoo. I choose it because i like Hawiian flowers and I fell in love with the little turtle.  You will think im very wierd but I did end up naming it. I call it Ninja, you know like Ninja Turtle kinda thing. HAHA!

I find Tattooing as a form of art. A person decided to put ink on there body to show or express a feeling or to show to show respect to someone. Im not saying that artistic people are the only ones who get tattoo's because i am not artistic at all.

A tattoo make you unique from any other person . If two people have the same tattoo, both of those people are still unique because more than likely  they got them by two different people, and no artist can ever do something twice and make it look the same as it did before.
